06.06 → 07.06.2026
From 6 to 7 June 2026, le19M presents the fourth Mains d’avenir event—two days dedicated to exploring the Métiers d’art of fashion and decoration.
At the heart of this programme, the craftsmanship of artisans and their career journeys are highlighted through demonstrations, meetings with experts, discussions with training institutions, and round-table discussions led by journalists from Le Monde. Conceived as a genuine opportunity for knowledge-sharing and transmission, these two days aim to inspire new vocations and spark interest in career changes.
This year, Mains d’avenir is extended through a unique exhibition running until 19 July 2026, offering a wider audience the opportunity to discover the Métiers d’art of fashion and decoration practised at the le19M.
Friday 5 June is reserved for schools.

Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 June: Discovering the Métiers d’art
The weekend showcases nine types of specialist savoir-faire from the resident Maisons d’art of le19M: hat making, embroidery design, embroidery, flower making, shoe making, fashion accessories, fashion jewellery, the art of pattern-making and corsetry, and couture.
At individual stands, specialist artisans present their trades, lead demonstrations, and share their career paths, skills, and experiences. A careers guidance area completes the programme, offering support for those exploring their career options.
Discovering training courses
Partner schools and training centres present specialised courses that reflect the savoir-faire of the Maisons d’art of le19M, providing insights into potential career paths in the Métiers d’art.
Among these, the public will be able to discover the Académie des Métiers d’art, the AICP (Académie Internationale de Coupe de Paris), the École Boulle, the Compagnons du Devoir, the Lycée des métiers La Source, the Lycée Octave Feuillet, and the École Lesage.
A careers guidance area
A dedicated space brings together the human resources teams from the Maisons d’art of le19M, GRETA de Paris, and the Savoir pour Faire platform to provide support in shaping career paths and a better understanding of the various sectors.

Panel discussions
Throughout the weekend, panel discussions moderated by journalists from Le Monde will highlight the richness and dynamism of the Métiers d’art in fashion and decoration.
The discussions bring together speakers from a range of different backgrounds (artisans, fashion and luxury industry professionals, and careers advisors) to provide practical insights into these professions, their key issues, and their future prospects.
