The Amateur Film Factory

• Ages 10 and up.
  If a child takes part, an adult must be present for the entire duration of the workshop.

• From 2 pm to 5 pm (3-hour sessions), every Saturday.

• Free, by reservation.
  New sessions for the following month open on the first Monday of each month.

This collaborative workshop is presented as part of the exhibition Metamorphoses: Maison Michel Hats.

For the exhibition Metamorphoses: Maison Michel Hats, the project takes on a new form at la Galerie du 19M: an immersive set inspired by an early 20th-century hat shop and workshop becomes the playground and starting point for all the stories.

Working as a group, participants imagine their story, write the main scenes, assign roles, and then shoot their film on the set. The experience concludes with a collective screening of the short film they have just created.

A true catalyst for collective creativity, the Amateur Film Factory is not a film school. The aim is not to teach professional techniques, but to unleash the imagination, encourage play, and give everyone the opportunity to take part in a collaborative creative process.

For this edition, specially designed for la Galerie du 19M, hats, materials, gestures, and millinery savoir-faire become sources of inspiration, giving rise to stories that are as free-spirited as they are unexpected.
