CHANEL and le19M present la Galerie du 19M Shanghai
Founded by CHANEL and dedicated to the creation and transmission of the Fashion and Decoration Métiers d’art, le19M will be presenting a cultural program, open to all, from Friday 25th September to Sunday 15th November
2026, at the Museum of Art Pudong (MAP) in Shanghai.
Led by la Galerie du 19M, this new international project will embody the founding values of the Métiers d’art: passion, transmission, innovation, and generosity. Held in Shanghai, a city of contrasts, exchange, and creative vitality, it will foster a dialogue between le19M’s Maisons d’art and the contemporary creative scenes of both China and France.
Located in the heart of the city, opposite the Bund, la Galerie du 19M Shanghai will invite its visitors — art and craft enthusiasts, students, families or simply the curious — to embark on a journey through an immersive exhibition. Focusing on traditional savoir-faire while revealing the wealth of an extraordinary living heritage, it will bridge the excellence of the French Métiers d’art with the dynamism of today’s Chinese artisanal and cultural landscape.
“With this new international project, la Galerie du 19M extends the values of the Maisons d’art — passion, transmission and generosity — beyond its Parisian walls. Through a creative dialogue imagined for all audiences, the project offers a sensory exploration of the Métiers d’art, that combines heritage, contemporary techniques and participatory experiences, affirming the status of savoir-faire as a universal creative language.”Bruno Pavlovsky, President of CHANEL SAS, President of CHANEL Fashion and President of le19M.
