Extend your visit to Beyond our Horizons: from Tokyo to Paris in the spaces of la Galerie du19M
The entrance to la Galerie du19M has been transformed into a welcoming space where you can prepare for or extend your visit to the exhibition Beyond our Horizons: from Tokyo to Paris, through books, music, objects, and flavour.
Designed as a space in which to take a breath, this area invites you to listen, read, and explore the origins of the exhibition, to immerse yourself in its world and continue the experience at your own pace.
the Jazz Kissa Lounge
The Jazz Kissa Lounge, a nod to the Japanese kissaten cafés, invites you to read and listen to over 100 musical gems on vinyl, selected by the independent record shop Balades Sonores.
Every week, during the Gallery’s opening hours, these records can be listened to on headphones. On Sundays, the soundscape transforms: visitors are invited to choose the vinyl records to be played in stereo throughout the space, thanks to the audio system designed by Paul Emilieu Marchesseau and Pikip Solar Speakers, created as part of the Salon des Nouveaux Ensembliers at the Mobilier National, of which le19M was a partner.
In the Salon’s library, a selection of Japanese classics, manga, graphic novels, and coffee-table books is available for visitors to browse freely, extending the exhibition experience.
the Shopu Boutique, the 7L Bookshop, and le Shop
The Shopu boutique stand showcases everyday objects blending pop culture, a playful spirit, and ancient Japanese traditions. A selection curated by the 7L Bookshop and le Shop completes this journey, featuring the Petits livres du 19M collection, tote bags, postcards, and posters specially designed for the exhibition.
le Festival
For Beyond our Horizons: from Tokyo to Paris, le Festival offers a visual and sensory introduction to le19M’s resident Maisons d’art and their savoir-faire. Tools, materials, models, and sources of inspiration, which formed the basis for the collaborative works created by the eleven 19M Maisons d’art and the Japanese and French artists featured in the exhibition, are presented to the public.
le Café du 19M
At le Café du 19M, the exhibition Beyond our Horizons: from Tokyo to Paris can also be savoured on the plate. From Wednesday to Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., miso cookies and Tokyo-style Margherita pizzas sit alongside genmaicha served by the teapot and natural wines—a gourmet dialogue that reflects a genuine exchange between Japanese and French culinary traditions.
Alongside the exhibition Beyond our Horizons: from Tokyo to Paris, la Galerie du 19M is offering a programme of free events open to all, including workshops, events, and late-night openings.
