[Programme] Beyond Our Horizons: from Tokyo to Paris 
Episode 1 

From 29 January to 26 April 2026, la Galerie du 19M presented the exhibition Beyond our Horizons: from Tokyo to Paris. Following the success of its Japanese edition in autumn 2025, the exhibition returned to France in a reimagined version, celebrating the creative dialogue between Japanese and French artisans and designers. Inspired by the idea of a universe governed by elemental forces and by the philosophy of the five elements—earth (⼟, do), water (⽔, sui), fire (⽕, ka), wind (⾵, fu) and air (空, ku)—the exhibition explores the deep connections that unite nature and creation. 

In the first episode of this two-part series, craftspeople, artists, and members of the editorial committee take us right to the heart of the exhibition in Tokyo, where the project first took shape. They look back at the project’s early days and give us a behind-the-scenes look at some of the iconic collaborations between the Maisons d’art of le19M and Japanese and French artisans and artists. 

From 29 January, la Galerie du 19M is open from Wednesday to Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. Choose to explore at your own pace or join a guided tour led by our facilitators.
