For Beyond Our Horizons the eleven art houses of le19M in Paris collaborated with artists, artisans and workshops from all over Japan.

Together, they overcame linguistic, technical and generational differences to take on new creative challenges, while honouring their traditional roots. The works of art created through these collaborations and a deep dedication to craftsmanship invite us to reflect on the true meaning of creativity.

la Galerie du 19M Tokyo is a new milestone in the history that connects CHANEL and Japan, built on respect, mutual admiration, and shared inspiration.

While Japanese aesthetics have permeated many collections since the time of Gabrielle Chanel, the Maison has also paid homage to Japan through multiple landmark events, from its first fashion show in Tokyo in 1978, to its first Métiers d’art show abroad, at the Ginza flagship, in 2004.
