le Festival, an introduction to le19M
for la Galerie du 19m Tokyo

A living testament to the encounter between the heritage and innovation of fashion and decoration, a unique place in the world where traditional craftsmanship is nourished by continuous creativity, le19M, in Paris/Aubervilliers, brings together 11 Maisons d'art and nearly
700 artisans and experts with exceptional savoir-faire. With the aim to transmit this joyous creative effervescence to the public, la Galerie du 19M Tokyo offers to delve into this unique atmosphere through a sparkling installation entrusted to Atelier Tsuyoshi Tane Architects (ATTA agency).

Titled "le Festival", this immersive installation celebrates the boundless spirit of creation— joyful, generous, and ever-evolving. A vibrant manifesto of the expertise housed within le19M’s Maisons d’art, showcasing the richness and diversity of craftsmanship in all its forms.
Visitors are invited on a journey that begins with raw materials, tools, and samples, gradually unfolding into nearly finished masterpieces. This poetic ode to creative artistry highlights the care and dedication artisans infuse into every step of the process, with each gesture reflecting a vitality and joy that has been handed down across generations.
At the heart of le Festival, la Galerie du 19M Tokyo invites visitors to experience the magical transformation of matter into something extraordinary.
“Rather than displaying finished products, we wanted to present tools and works in progress so that visitors could imagine how the objects are created and understand the craft processes involved.”
Tsuyoshi Tane, ATTA

One of the remarkable aspects of le Festival is the gradual transformation of its atmosphere throughout the day. From the 52nd floor of the Mori Tower, le Festival benefits from abundant natural light during the day, immersing the installation and visitors in a festive and lively atmosphere.
At nightfall, the city lights take over and are reflected, creating an immersive sensory experience, as if in the intimacy of an art studio.

ATTA — Atelier Tsuyoshi Tane Architects
ATTA — Atelier Tsuyoshi Tane Architects — is an international team of architects, designers, and creative professionals based in Paris.
Shaped by diverse cultural and professional experiences, ATTA has contributed to a broad spectrum of projects, from urban master planning to architectural design and scenography, across France, Italy, Switzerland, Japan, Taiwan, Brazil, and beyond. ATTA’s work is rooted in a deep understanding of place, engaging with themes such as cultural memory, anthropological context, and the “Archaeology of the Future.”
In response to global homogenisation, environmental challenges, and the erosion of historical narratives, ATTA conception of architecture is one that fosters continuity — bridging past and future through thoughtful, site-specific interventions. Rather than imposing new identities, ATTA seeks to reveal latent qualities, expanding a site’s architectural language through innovation and discovery
