For the past five years, le19M has been a partner of the École Kourtrajmé.
Founded in 2018 by director Ladj Ly in Montfermeil, the Kourtrajmé offers its students training in the fields of visual arts, audiovisual media, and cinema. The teaching emphasises the importance of action, the individual characteristics and talents of the students, and the energy of the collective. These values resonate with those of le19M, which began a partnership with the École Kourtrajmé in 2020.
For the first time this autumn, five former Kourtrajmé students are exhibiting at la Galerie du 19M as part of its new exhibition, Trouver son monde: an exploration of transmission in all its forms, for which a number of artists have been invited to collaborate with the Maisons d’art of le19M. The exhibition features works by Rakajoo, Ismail Alaoui Fdili, Sarah Makharine, Ismaël Bazri, and Élea-Jeanne Schmitter, all of whom have collaborated with Atelier Montex.
To celebrate this partnership, le19M invites you to discover the exhibition by the students from the “Art et Image” department at the École Kourtrajmé, LES GENS DU CERCLE, on show this weekend during the European Heritage Days.
As part of their course, the students spent the year immersing themselves in the workshops of le19M to develop their artistic vision and practice.
The exhibition is open all weekend, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Cabane de la Parcelle (free admission).
