Assembling and personalising wind chimes with Miyoko Yasumoto

In keeping with her installation in the exhibition, Miyoko Yasumoto invites visitors to discover the fūrin, a small Japanese wind chime traditionally hung at the entrance of houses during the summer, made of washi paper, braided thread, a glass bell, and a chime.

For this workshop, Miyoko Yasumoto has designed a fūrin inspired by the Métiers d’art. She invites participants to assemble their own chime using a range of savoir-faire: an introduction to musubi (Japanese knotting), drawing on glass bells, origami, etc.

Participants will be able to decorate the glass bells of their fūrin with colourful patterns, embellish them with a small origami crane (orizuru), choose their tanzakus made of washi paper, and add other elements (beads, feathers, tassels, etc.).

Participants will take home their unique, personalised fūrin.
