Since her solo exhibition at the Palais de Tokyo in 2018, artist Mélanie Matranga has been working on chōchin lanterns. Her large installations create a sense of the intimate in public space.

In this workshop, the artist invites participants to discover the technique of making these traditional Japanese lanterns called chōchin, which are made using washi paper and can be decorated to suit individual tastes.
