Beyond our Horizons: from Tokyo to Paris Episode 2

29.01 → 26.04.2026

From 29 January to 26 April 2026, la Galerie du 19M presents Beyond our Horizons: from Tokyo to Paris. Following an initial instalment focusing on the exhibition’s origins in Tokyo, this second chapter marks the exhibition’s return to Paris in a version reimagined for a new venue and a new audience.

A shift in scale and perspective: some works remain in Japan, while others are introduced for the first time, and some ten new artists enrich the dialogue between artistic craft and the Japanese and French contemporary art scenes.

In this episode, we follow this transformation alongside Aska Yamashita, artistic director of Atelier Montex and a member of the editorial committee. An opportunity to explore the interplay between materials and craftsmanship: from konomad’s works with hair to variations on floral motifs—printed by Koh Kado using the karakami technique and brought to life in three dimensions by the artisans at Lemarié—and including the installation by Thomas Takada and Goossens, which combines gilded brass and mulberry leaves.

A podcast produced by Géraldine Sarratia and directed by Guillaume Girault, as part of the exhibition Beyond our Horizons: from Tokyo to Paris at la Galerie du 19M.

« Trouver son monde »

17.09 → 14.12.2025

From 17 September to 14 December 2025, la Galerie du 19M presents Trouver son monde, a group exhibition inviting visitors to embark on a quest that is both personal and collective, alongside seventeen creators from the French art scene and le19M’s resident Maisons d’art.

Conceived as a rich and immersive journey, this project explores the dialogue between memory and transmission, ancestral techniques and bold new approaches, opening up new creative horizons at the intersection of the visual arts and artistic craft.

In this episode, members of the editorial committee and artists featured in the exhibition offer a behind-the-scenes look at unique collaborations. How does the transmission of gesture become a source of inspiration? How does a technique reinvent itself when it encounters a distinctive creative world? How can we build a vibrant dialogue between heritage and modernity?

A podcast produced by Géraldine Sarratia and directed by Guillaume Girault as part of the exhibition Trouver son monde at la Galerie du 19M, from 17 September to 14 December 2025.

Featuring: Anne Bourrassé, Nina Jayasuria, Regina Weber, Emeline Amétis, Rakajoo, Ismaël Bazri, and Éléa-Jeanne Schmitter.

« Lesage: 100 Years of Fashion and Decoration »

26.09 → 26.01.2025

In 2024, Lesage celebrated a century of exceptional expertise in embroidery and weaving. Founded in 1924, this iconic Maison d’art has played a crucial role in the history of haute couture and fashion, working with the most prestigious clients in the interior design sector.

Listen to the rest of the fabulous story of the House of Lesage and discover how the multiple crises of the 1990s convinced Lesage to diversify its business, creating not only the École Lesage but also a textile department, which led to the development of a now iconic tweed.
