From 14 October to 2 November 2025, the Manufactures nationales unveiled the Salon Les Nouveaux Ensembliers, marking the centenary of the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts.

In the spirit of the interior designers of the time, this first edition showcased a new generation of architect-interior designers, invited to rethink spaces from an interior design perspective, combining aesthetics, contemporary uses, and sustainability.

le19M was a partner of this first edition, which showcased the participation of its resident Maisons d’art: the goldsmith Goossens, the feather worker Lemarié and the pleater Atelier Lognon, the fashion jeweller Desrues, the embroiderers Lesage Intérieurs and Studio MTX, as well as the hatmaker Maison Michel, illustrating the richness of the Métiers d’art in the service of decoration and design.

A unique collaboration, combining interior decoration and artistic craftsmanship, which demonstrated the power of collective creation rooted in a living cultural heritage, both respectful of the past and focused on the future.

In this article, discover in detail the collaborations between the architect-interior designers and the resident Maisons d’art of le19M.

Goossens x Pierre Marie

As part of the Nouveaux Ensembliers project, Maison Goossens drew on its expertise in lost-wax casting, using a traditional craft method true to its heritage.

A first hand-crafted pewter model served as the basis for creating the motifs: drapery, rosette, and “Montgolfière” chains. The wax elements produced by the casting process were then cast in molten brass. Each piece was soldered, then embellished with faceted, column-cut rock crystal, a first in the company’s history. The gilding was carried out in a matt gold bath, an iconic finish using 2N gold.

The assembly of the galvanised components was the final step of this technical orchestration.

Lemarié x Mathilde Bretillot

For this project, the House of Lemarié created a butterfly-shaped feather marquetry, placed in each opening of a lamp. Two of the House’s historic crafts were brought to bear:

  • feather making, for the meticulous gluing work (both flat and raised à la retroussette) of feathers in three colours;

  • sewing, for applying dyed raffia to an organza base.

Atelier Lognon x Pierre Marie

Atelier Lognon created four pleated pieces for the designer Pierre Marie:

  • Valance: Flat pleating with and without folds, handmade on a traditional heritage loom from the workshop, on a Léopara jacquard.

  • Mirror: Fancy accordion pleats, hand-crafted on a traditional loom using heritage techniques passed down through the workshop, on jacquard fabric.

  • Wall panels: Same technique as for the mirror, applied to Balahdeira jacquard.

  • Lamp: Sunray pleating design on blue taffeta, hand-made using a traditional heritage loom from the workshop.

Lesage Intérieurs x OUD Architectures

An embroidered tapestry comprising several panels, depicting a naturalistic scene: a life-size panther, birds, palm trees, and papyrus, all hand-embroidered using needle, crochet, and thread, showcasing the exceptional craftsmanship of Lesage Intérieurs.

Studio MTX x Estudio Rain

n response to a Brazilian-inspired proposal, Studio MTX has incorporated beans into its 3D metal grids, replacing the traditional beads that are used. The industrial precision of the metal tubes is brought together with the beans’ natural irregularity.

Studio MTX x Paul Emilieu Marchesseau

In the main room, Studio MTX’s Alpha Centauri disco ball echoes the architectural lines of the space.

In another room, two interior windows highlight interlaced, stretched ribbons.
