For this workshop, artist Nina Jayasuriya, one of the participating artists in the exhibition Trouver son monde, invites young people to learn about her textile practice by designing a T-shirt with a message and colourful patterns in a fun and intuitive way.
Children will freely select and assemble typography, symbols, and figures from the global imagination (statues, cartoons, logos, emojis, monuments, etc.) to decorate their T-shirts.
These images, made from heat-activated fabric, will be fixed to the T-shirts using a press.
Each creation will then be embellished with colourful, shiny rhinestones using fabric glue. A joyful approach to visual art and textile design!
Participants will take their decorated T-shirts home with them.
Ages 8 and up
An adult must be present throughout the workshop (1 adult for 2 children)
