To coincide with the exhibition Sur le fil: de Dakar à Paris, la Galerie du 19M invites you to try your hand at object design in dialogue with the hall.haus collective, inspired by the techniques of Studio MTX, one of the ten Maisons d’art resident at le19M.

For more details, refer to the practical information.
For this workshop, hall.haus will be making a lamp from scraps and offcuts from Studio MTX. After making a structure from laser-cut cardboard, participants will decorate their lamp using the emblematic 3D-weaving technique of the design and production workshop. Participants will be able to take their work home with them.
hall.haus is a collective of four designers founded at the beginning of 2020 and based in Asnières. Their creative approach stems from a journey between their environment (hall) and design (haus). In 2022, the collective exhibited in designer Bibi Seck's Birsel+Seck gallery in Dakar. A few months later, on the invitation of the dola platform, they returned to the Onomo Hotel in Dakar to present a Playground installation in yellow, the collective’s signature colour.
Connected to the Montex haute couture embroidery workshop, Studio MTX was created in 2013 to open a new field of expression for embroidery through interior design. Under the impetus of its artistic director Mathieu Bassée, since 2017 the studio has integrated and brought together all the skills needed to support an entire project: creation, materials research, design engineering, 3D modelling, prototyping, production, and installation.
