Guided tour of the exhibition
The exhibition Carla Fernández. The Future is Handmade dives into the world of the Mexican stylist and designer through her collaborations with Mexican artisans. Carla Fernández works at the forefront of ethical fashion, documenting and preserving the rich textile heritage of her country’s indigenous communities. Her creations are made in collaboration with over 180 weavers, embroiderers, and woodcarvers from Mexico’s fifteen states, using traditional techniques and processes to create contemporary fashion.
One of the aims of le 19M and its gallery is to introduce visitors to the crafts and decorative arts of fashion and luxury. On Thursday afternoons, a tour of the exhibition can be combined with a practical workshop, subject to availability. This workshop-tour combines theory and practice. A creative and enriching experience for children aged 8 and over.
- The guided tour of the exhibition and the practical workshop can be booked separately.
- The workshops can be adapted to suit all ages and backgrounds.
- Several languages are available on request.
